The project involved developing a feasibility for submission to the Local Council to examine potential extension to the town and the emerging policy review of Green Belt / Housing Allocation. The scheme has been designed to follow the character of traditional towns and villages. The proposals cover several pockets of land and looks at a phased development delivery in the region of 300 dwellings. The enclosure of the spaces provide’s a variety of visual interest, is comfortable at a pedestrian scale and helps create safer and more secure environments.
The development is laid out in such a way to maximise proximity to facilities and public transport and to improve permeability across the site. This will encourage walking and cycling instead of cars.
